Welcome to InSightInc.com. We are a small group of dedicated people who believe in hands-on learning. In school we all learn about the lever and the wheel, but how many of us can build the brake for a horse-drawn wagon? How many of us have ever developed something new? We believe that we all should understand how the world around us, and the things in it, work. We selected the name "insight" carefully. We believe that there is a big difference between seeing things around us (having them in our sight) and truly understanding them (having insight). That's the difference between being able to drive a car, and being able to design, improve, build, or repair one. We consider ourselves inventors. We also consider ourselves students. If you want to be an inventor, you better be a student. Some studying takes place inside a classroom, and that can be very, very, good if you have a good teacher and are in the right class. A lot more studying takes place outside a classroom. Or perhaps the universe is just a bigger classroom. We find the world around us an endlessly fascinating place, with an infinite number of interesting things to learn. Sometimes that lets you build some better, or more useful, than anyone has built before. Sometimes that gives you understanding into something that someone else already built. Sometimes it just increases your awe at the complexity around us. Sometimes it's just an interesting tidbit. Sometimes it becomes amazingly useful years after you learned it. But it's always worth learning- that's one of the things that makes us the creatures we are. |
